The Tobias Magee Family Reunion meets annually in Columbia, MS, and is open to all descendants of early Mississippi settler Tobias Magee and his wife, Nancy Stephens Magee. The reunion started many years ago as a gathering of the descendants of Tobias’s grandson Hardy Jefferson Magee, was later expanded to include descendants of Hardy Jefferson’s father, Thomas Jefferson Magee, and in 2000 was opened to all descendants of Tobias and Nancy Magee.
The date for the reunion varies slightly, but is usually held on the second Saturday in July. Although there are several hotels in Columbia, most attendees choose to stay in Hattiesburg, MS, which is less than 45 minutes away from Columbia, and has numerous motels, restaurants, activities, and shopping venues.
